Conforming Our Lives...

“But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it---he will be blessed in what he does.” ~James 1:25

“How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to it].”~ Psalm 119:9

Is there a hunger and thirst after righteousness? In our own lives? Do we actively seek to conform our lives to His word every moment of every day? Conform our lives…..every spoken word, every murmur of our heart, the first waking thought of the day to the last breath of the night….are we surrendering our will to the Holy Spirit to mold, reshape, and reframe every nook and cranny of ourselves….like the potter to the clay.

I’m the ultimate perfectionist. You’ll often hear me whining, “If only I had a script to life! I could follow it and never mess up! I’d always know the right thing to do, to say, or think.” Let’s forget for a moment the many inherent problems with my logic. Instead, let’s remember James 1:25. God cherishes our privilege of free will so much so that He forewent a script. He gave us a guide. We can initiate the first step of a pure, holy, and conformed life by looking intently to His word as our guide. Intently=active pursuit. You’re treasure hunting for gold that you KNOW is there. Lucky us.

So, read your Bible. Study it, meditate on it, sleep with it under your pillow, etc. Then do it. Do what you read. It’s as simple and as difficult as that.
 Yours in Christ,
Feylyn

“Enter through the narrow gate….small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”~ Matthew 7:13-14

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on a rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” ~Matthew 7:24-25
